Explore the South Side (“El Sur”)
The promenade behind the hotel
Behind the main wedding hotel (H10 Las Palmeras), you will find one of the longest beach promenades in Europe boasting a total of 8km (5mi) between the coastal parts of Arona to Costa Adeje. Enjoy a stroll with views of La Gomera island, as the sun sets in the evenings and the seaside breeze picks up.
Black sand beaches
Tenerife has more than 10 black sand beaches, here are a couple we recommend:
La Arena Beach
Playa de Los Gigantes: A natural black sand bay near the Cliffs of Los Gigantes with shallow waters
The Golden Mile
A mile-long stroll full of shops, bars and cafes to spend a relaxing day shopping and enjoying the nice weather just a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
Gold sand beaches
Here are a few gold sand beaches near the main hotel we recommend:
Playa de Las Américas
Playa del Camisón
Playa Las Vistas.
Surfing
If you are looking for a good early-morning workout, we highly recommend booking a surfing lesson nearby the hotel at one of the local surf schools.
The Cliffs of Los Gigantes
These cliffs rise from the sea shore towering up to 600m (1,970ft) tall. You can admire their beauty while on a boat or from the base at Playa de Los Gigantes beach.
Sailing around the island
You will be able to see the different types of wild cetaceans that swim in the waters southwest of Tenerife, one of the few places in the world where they can be seen so close to the coast. In addition to the “local year-round” dolphins, Tenerife waters are also visited by blue whales and orcas.
We will be coordinating a group outing (tentative date July 11th), booking will be available for our guests when you RSVP.
Golfing
Tenerife has ten different golf courses for our guests to practice their swing on this side of the Atlantic. The closest courses to the main hotel are Golf Las Américas and Golf Los Palos.
Tim will be coordinating a group golf-day for our guests. More information to follow when you RSVP.
Hiking
Barranco del Infierno (“Hell’s ravine”) is a 6.5km (3.9 mi) trail for amateur hikers. We recommend booking a morning slot (given the high sun exposure on the trail) well in advance of your visit, you can book your tickets here.
Masca: This small town is hidden from view at the very top of a ravine. It has a high-difficulty hiking trail for expert hikers all the way down from the town to the sea.
