Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Our island’s capital, where busy city life mixes with the historic quarter. For a bite to eat, we recommend the “Mercado de nuestra señora de África”.

Black sand beaches

Tenerife has more than 10 black sand beaches, here are a couple we recommend:

  • Playa Jardin: the most famous black sand beach.

  • Playa de Martianez: Good beach for surfers and sunbathing with a mix of pebbles and black sand. You can also wander along the promenade and visit the local shops and cafes.

La Orotava

A town home to an imporant historical and artistic ensemble where you can admire the typical Canarian-style architecture. We recommend visiting the “Casa de los balcones”.

Anaga Rural Park

One of the 7 biosphere reserves in the Canary Islands, this rural park has 5 different hiking trails for all hiking lovers. We found this blogpost online with great recommendations.

Teide National Park

The third highest volcano in the world at 3,715m (12,188ft). You can take the cable car to the top, hike it following the trail with a professional guide or book a tour.

Loro Parque

A world-famous zoo and animal adventure park perfect for families with children or animal lovers. You can book your tickets in advance here.
